Set up Sentry as an event-based data source.

Capture Sentry webhooks to get real-time data on every action your users take.

Follow the steps (see the screenshots below).

  1. Tap into a workspace in your Velvet dashboard
  2. Navigate to "Data sources"
  3. Tap "Add a data source"
  4. Name your source “Sentry”
  5. Copy the Sentry webhook link

Capture webhooks from Sentry

  1. Navigate to “Organization Settings”> “Integrations".
  2. Click “Create New Integration”.
  1. Choose “Internal Integration” so that only your organization can access this integration.
  1. Name the integration eg. “Velvet”.
  2. Paste your Velvet source link from above into Sentry's webhook URL field.
  1. Choose what permissions you would like to give the webhook (eg. For collecting error logs in Velvet give read access to “Issue & Event”).
  1. Choose what event types you would like to send to the webhook (eg. For collecting error logs in velvet choose the error event). Read more about Sentry's event types here.
  2. Click “Save Changes”.

Great job, you’ve connected Sentry as a data source. From this point on, we’ll create a queue of every event you’re sending from Sentry and collect them in your Velvet workspace.
